In this book, the authors present the complex issues around the child labour phenomenon in general, and specifically in the informal economy, and to examine good practices for the effective monitoring of labour legislation and child labour. The volume examines the trends and challenges facing labour inspection and child labour inspections in selected transition economies such as Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Brazil, Ethiopia, Ghana, Jordan, Myanmar, Namibia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and ASEAN countries. The reader will have access to examples ranging from developing national strategies to combat child labour, developing a database to documenting the prevalence of child labour, and facilitating coordination and communication between government ministries and other stakeholders to devise innovative approaches to address unique situations.
